The Commodore shall act as the Chief Executive Officer serving ex-officio as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Committees of the Summerland Yacht Club. He/She is responsible to the members for the general supervision of the elected Directors and Committees in the execution of their duties for the prudent financial and efficient operation fo the Club.

Brian Wilkey Vice-Commodore |

The Vice Commodore, as an Officer of the Club, shall officiate in the absence of the Commodore is responsible to the Commodore for the overall administration of the Summerland Yacht Club. He/She shall assist the Commodore in the execution of his/her duties with assistance from the Directors who administer and direct their various directors’ portfolios.

The Past Commodore shall act as an advisor, to the Board of Directors in the performance of their duties based on past experience as Commodore of the Summerland Yacht Club.

Gil Inglis, Staff Captain |

The Staff Captain, as an Officer of the Club, shall officiate in the absence of the Commodore and Vice Commodore and is responsible to the Commodore for the maintenance, general upkeep of the Summerland Yacht Club’s buildings, land based infrastructure, utilities, equipment and grounds, making recommendations to The Board regarding necessary improvements or replacement.

Tanis Coletti - Fleet Captain |

The Fleet Captain is responsible to the Commodore for the organizing and coordination of all Sail and Power Fleet Programs for the boating season, encouraging the fleet to meet the operational, safety and licensing requirements of the Canadian Coast Guard and other governing bodies.

The Treasurer, as an Officer of the Club, is responsible to the Commodore for the management and reporting of the Summerland Yacht Clubs’ finance’s as laid down by the Constitution, Federal and Provincial regulations and the Societies Act of British, Columbia with the assistance of the Office Manager.

The Secretary, as an Officer of the Club, is responsible to the Commodore for the secretarial requirements of the Summerland Yacht Club, in accordance with the Constitution and the Societies Act of British Columbia, and the Clubs coordination and direction of the public relations affairs and advertising with the assistance of the Office Manager and appropriate Directors.

John Fitzgerald, Harbormaster |

The Harbormaster is responsible to the Commodore for the maintenance, general upkeep and cleanliness of the Summerland Yacht Club’s basin, egresses, docks, walkways and boat moorage, making recommendations to The Board regarding safe moorage of boats and necessary improvements or replacements to harbor infrastructure.

The Moorage Director is responsible to the Commodore for the management and efficient operation of all Summerland Yacht Club moorage, visitor and reciprocal moorage within the SYC harbor and the supply, placement and maintenance of the SYC floating mooring buoys located on Okanagan Lake.

Marc Coderre- House Director |

The House Director is responsible to the Commodore, for the management, efficient operation and cleanliness of the Summerland Yacht Club House, including but not limited to, the galley, bar, patio and associated staff requirements to provide food, beverage for approved Club, or facility rental events.

Art More, Publicity/Protocol |

The Public Relations/Protocol Director is responsible to the Commodore for the coordination and direction of the public relations affairs, protocols and policies and procedures of the Summerland Yacht Club.

|
The Yardmaster Director is responsible to the Commodore for the operation, maintenance, general upkeep, and cleanliness of the Summerland Yacht Club's grounds. Management of the Gas Dock facility, purchasing and selling fuel, miscellaneous sundries, waste pump out services, hiring and supervision of staff, renting of visitor moorage, and collecting launching fees.
